CityWest technicians and support staffers will be in Lax Kw'alaams in early June to bring CityWest service to the community north of Prince Rupert |
Residents of Lax Kw'alaams are less than one month away from seeing the start of a much anticipated upgrade to their current Internet and television viewing situations, with CityWest set to deliver their fibre program to community homes in the first week of June.
The Lax Kw'alaams Band Council provided an update on Thursday for its members noting of the work ahead for June 7 and 8th.
CityWest representatives will be in the community earlier that same week to deliver internet packages to residents door to door, as well as to answer any questions that residents may have about the two installation days.
The work of June will bring the community north of Prince Rupert onboard as part of the Connected Coast project which is bringing fibre optic internet service to a number of coastal communities on the North Coast, Haida Gwaii and further south to the Central Coast and Vancouver Island.
More on CityWest and the Connected Coast program can be reviewed here.
