Much to address for Board of Education trustees tonight, with Budget decisions to be considered and community concerns percolating on school issues

With the number of School Board meetings for the 2021-22 School year winding down, the Board of Education session for tonight could make for an interesting event, with financial themes perhaps still on their minds following a Budget meeting from earlier this month.

As we outlined last week, the Trustees were presented with news of a potential 800,000 dollar deficit by Secretary/Treasurer Cam McIntyre, the financial note note which seemingly caught all of the Board members by surprise.

There is only one mention of the word Budget in the Agenda for tonight's session, that of the Budget Committee which comes towards the end of the blue print for the night.

The other area of note for a potential conversation starter, is the 10 minute Question and Answer period, which may see some members of the public relay concerns over bullying in the schools, that a recent topic that was roiling the internet on a number of local Social media pages.

The School District still uses the Zoom platform for its sessions, which will require prior registration for anyone wishing to participate in tonight's Board meeting to ask questions or share observations.

The gathering gets underway at 7 PM.

You can find out more about how to access the session here.
