Prince Rupert Fire/Rescue celebrates Excellence for 2021

Last week was Award season for the Prince Rupert Fire/Rescue Department with the city's firefighters celebrating the work of some of their members from 2021.

And while the level of calls continues to increase, the Department had to work through their past files for the year to determine which personnel and which events made it to the top of the list for recognition.

The PRFD has noted three categories of excellence from last year, starting with the Firefighter of the Year award which went to Dylan Lawrence.

Acting Captain Real Jones received the 2021 Fire Officer of the Year Award

The final award for 2021 was that of Rescue of the Year, with Delta Fire Company recognized for their work in rescuing a patient as part of a dangerous motor vehicle accident call last year.

You can keep up with all of the developments from the First Avenue West Firehouse from the PRFD Facebook page here.

More notes on the work of all Emergency responders across the region can be explored through our archive page.
