Prince Rupert RCMP have released some information to media today, recounting an incident close to one week ago in the city's downtown core.

From their notes, Mounties outline that three males have been arrested in relation to a reported home invasion last week in residence atop a  commercial building in Prince Rupert's downtown core.

The alleged home invasion incident took place in the early hours of May 4th in a residence in the building that once hosted the RCMP offices in the 800 block of Second Avenue West, with the victim living in an upper apartment said to have been attacked and robbed of a number of  items by assailants wearing masks.

As a result of the incident, the victim was taken to Prince Rupert Regional Hospital for treatment and subsequently released.

The Prince Rupert Detachment of the RCMP notes that with the assistance of a Police Service Dog from Terrace, the three individuals said to be responsible for the home invasion were taken into custody within hours at a residence in the 1400 block of Atlin Avenue, with much of the stolen property  recovered as a result of the investigation.

If approved by the BC Prosecution Service, the three, ages 17, 18 and 28 will face charges with  breaking and entering, robbery, uttering threats, and assault causing bodily harm, the local detachment also advises that more charges may be forthcoming.

The three were released on undertakings and will return for a court date which has been scheduled for sometime in July.
