The Prince Rupert Library is 100 years young this year and Saturday is the day to celebrate that century of service to community with a Birthday Blast at the House of Reading from 1-4 on Saturday.
The Library has ordered the cake, will have snacks on hand along with commemorative buttons and some displays for patrons to view as they join the staff to revisit the 100 years of book lending and all that came after the original book was checked out in 1922.
While you're there, you can also pick up the newest library card, one which marks the centennial year in a an impressive way.
We outlined some of the background to the new passport to reading earlier this month, you can ask about the new card at the Check Out desk.
Follow the Library from their Social media page and website for more notes on the Saturday event and other items of interest from the Sixth Avenue West location.
More notes on Community themes can be reviewed from our archive page.
