Zoom conferences fading as PRPA travels take local port officials to conventions and a more personal approach to information sharing

Conventions are back! And that meant some travel kilometres
to log for officials from the Prince Rupert Port Authority in April

The Spring has brought the launch of the 2022 convention season and for Prince Rupert's largest employer and economic engine, that is making for a return to travel for officials at the Prince Rupert Port Authority.

Some of their recent travels to a range of industry events have been chronicled through their social media streams with April a busy month for raising the profile of the Northwest gateway and sharing word of the advantages for shippers to be found through port facilities along the Prince Rupert waterfront.

Alberta was the prime destination for the Port in April with officials participating in a number of events In Edmonton. The main focus that of the EDA Experience 2022 event and Canadian Hydrogen Convention.

Port officials also had opportunity to visit with a range of political officials including the Mayor of Edmonton to explore further the shared links between the Alberta Capital and the North Coast.


Forestry themes also were prominent at a British Columbia event last month, with the port noting of the work of Council of Forest Industries as part of their time at the COFI2022 convention.


President and CEO Shaun Stevenson will get in some more travel in June as the Port takes part in a Association of Canadian Port Authorities convention in Toronto, with the PRPA official set to share some of the details on how the Port and First Nations have forged relationships on development of Port facilities in the region.
