The Atlantic Eagle makes for preparations at Seal Cove Base today
as the Canadian Coast Guard and a number of marine partners prepare
for a weekend of training exercises in local waters

Those following waterfront developments this weekend may notice a fair bit of activity on the waters of Prince Rupert Harbour over the next few days, the commotion just off shore, something that is all part of a Marine exercise taking place on the North Coast today and through the weekend.

Canadian Coast Guard vessels and those from a number of partners along the coast will set up in the Harbour and other area waters as part of an oil spill response exercise.

The three days of training one which will see participation from the Gitxaala Nation, Metlakatla First Nation and the Prince Rupert Port Authority.

You can monitor the Prince Rupert Port Authority and Canadian Coast Guard Social Media streams for any updates on the weekend of training ahead.
