With infrastructure an ongoing concern the job security for those in the Operations Department seems secured |
If there's one job on the city payroll that may last until retirement days, it's probably a job related to the city's water infrastructure.
As we've seen most recently on McBride street, the aging pipes are starting to give up the ghost and the replacement program seems more akin to whack a mole these days as new trouble areas come along.
As well with the city set to enter years ahead of new infrastructure, the prospects for those working to keep the water flowing seem pretty good and towards that a new job posting with the City of Prince Rupert provides a glimpse into the work ahead.
The position of Pipefitter through the Operations Department one which will see the successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of all aspects of the water/wastewater infrastructure.
