McBride Street reopens to traffic after four month infrastructure project



All of the travel lanes on McBride street are back in service today, with the city of Prince Rupert reopening the roadway to traffic around 3 PM on Tuesday, bringing an end to an infrastructure project which bean with a water leak in June.

The initial look beneath surface of early June, brought wider repairs and the eventual reconstruction of the  eastern side of the major roadway from Sixth Avenue down to Third Avenue.

Contractors from Broadwater worked on the waterline repair work through the summer and into the fall, turning the worksite over to Adventure Construction over the Thanksgiving Weekend.  Prep work took place last week, with the final elements of the paving program taking place yesterday and today.


Start and Finish, after four months of work, one of the 
busiest travel corridors in the city is fully open again


With today's reopening, all of the intersections in the four blocks of construction activity of the last four months have now returned to their normal operations with all roads east and west also reopened.
