Video project offers Nisga'a Youth opportunity to join in on Modern Treaty anniversary commemorations



Aspiring Nisga'a film makers have an opportunity to develop their skills and deliver a project as part of program through the Land Claims Agreement Coalition which is looking to develop a video for screening an an upcoming LCAC conference.

The program is designed for Nisga'a youth from 18 to 32 with a deadline to submit their project set for January 20, 2023.

You can learn more about the  Land Claims Agreement Coalition here, their National conference is scheduled for February 27-March 1st in Ottawa.

Some of the background to the plans come through a poster provided by the LCAC towards what they are hoping to see come as the final project.

The Nisga'a Treaty is one of the most often cited agreements when it comes to modern treaty making, with the work of the Spring of 1999 considered a template for other Nations seeking to create their own agreements with Federal and Provincial governments.
