Weather Warnings in effect across Highway 16 corridor from Terrace to Alberta border

An approaching Pacific storm front and cold interior air
have resulted in a string of Weather Warnings for Sunday evening

Snow, wind and blustery conditions are the focus on a string of Weather Warnings issued by Environment covering the length of the Highway 16 corridor and its feeder routes all the way through to the Alberta border, with the Northwest forecast calling for increasing amounts of snowfall building into Monday morning for the Terrace and Kitimat area.

Up to 25 centimetres of snow is anticipated through the inland North Coast region overnight and towards the early hours of Monday, snowfall amounts are less for Smithers and area.




For the Prince Rupert area and the remainder of the coastal North Coast, the approaching weather is going to be a rain and wind event, with up to 50 mm of precipitation expected by Monday evening, along with with winds of up to 80 km/h at times.
