The festival one of the three main events of the Northwest for the summer brings a large number of Prince Rupert residents and those from around the North Coast into town for the weekend, something to ensure that you'll find someone you know from back home at some point in your travels.
The first of the many activities get underway on Friday with an Art Show, Drag Racing, Mural Painting and the Opening Ceremonies among the things to do.
The Opening to the week comes with the 7PM celebration Friday night at the Band Shelter at George Little Park.
Saturday makes for one of the most active days for the River Boat Days organizers, with the Parade set to wind its way through the city at 11AM, starting at Terrace City Hall on Lakelese, it will travel the length of the thoroughfare to wrap up at the Legion.
For those that can't make it to the parade it will be broadcast live on CFTK TV and the CityWest Community Cable Channel with a rebroadcast planned for Sunday.
George Little Park then becomes the focus for much of the day with a wide range of activities including concerts, interactive exhibits from a number of participants and fun for the Kids.
Saturday evening brings the annual Fireworks Extravaganza at 11 PM where the skies light up above the North end of Ferry Island.

Once the celestial showcase is finished you can dance on into the night at the Thornhill Community Centre with their 90's vs 2000's Dance.
Sunday and Monday bring more activities around the city, with much of the itinerary sports related with a multiple number of tournaments set to take place through the weekend. An impressive number of Prince Rupert area teams have signed up, so you'll no doubt have some home town rooting to do whichever event you happen to come across over the weekend.
