CIHL Set to resume action this weekend as final month push towards playoffs gets underway

While there may be a chance that Mother Nature may have the final say, what with a Winter storm warning in place for inland areas of the Northwest, the CIHL is scheduled to get back into the swing of the 2019-2020 season this weekend.

With play set for three locations and the Prince Rupert Rampage featured in two of the three games.

The season hits the ice in 2020 first in Terrace tomorrow night with a 7 PM match up between the Kitimat Ice Demons and the Terrace River Kings.

One half hour later on Saturday, the Prince Rupert Rampage take to the ice for the first time since  December 7th when they head to Hazelton and a  7:30 PM contest with the Wolverines.

Sunday the Rhinos are destined for Smithers for a  Noon hour puck drop with the Steelheads.

Prince Rupert jumps back into the thick of the schedule trailing the First Place Terrace River Kings by two points as the New Year begins, the Rampage holding an 8-2 record good for 16 points so far.

This weekend marks the first of two significant road trips for the Rampage, with the team set for a one week break before they board the bus once again; this time on the longest trip of the season and the always challenging trek into Cariboo country on January 18th and 19th.

The team wraps up the regular season on the weekend of January 31/February 1st with home dates with the River Kings on the Friday and the Wolverines on Saturday.

The Rampage scoring which has been fairly balanced through the year so far, currently features three players in top ten, with the Rhinos hoping that Judd Repole, Jordan Weir and Kory Movold all pick up where they left off on December 7th.

Likewise, the Rampage are doing fine at the back end, with the goaltending tandem of Tomoki Yoshizawa and Kieran Sharpe both boasting top five placement in the Goaltender listings with Yoshizawa listed at the top with a remarkable GAA of 2.25 and perfect 4-0 record for his starts so far.
