Cold weather impacting roads both on surface and below

A water-main break west of Five Corners on Park Avenue has
seen City Crews dispatched for repairs and reduced the available traffic
lanes along the busy thoroughfare

The current cold snap is starting to take a toll on some of the City's infrastructure, with the City of Prince Rupert making note of some repair work required on the city's west side today.

A Notice posted to the City's Facebook page makes note of a water main break along the 1200 block of Park Avenue, which will require a reduction of lanes for traffic on the busy thoroughfare to the Fairview Container Terminal.

There was no timeline available as to how long City crews anticipate it will take to complete the work and return the Avenue to a full flow of traffic above and through the water line below.

Some past notes on Civic infrastructure issues can be found from our archive page here.
