Lottery to be used for new Metlakatla applications with ILWU Local 505

A chance for a spot on the ILWU Local 505 Board for work on the Prince Rupert waterfront is coming up for residents of Metlakatla, with the First Nation noting how they will be using a lottery system to allocate the two Applications that have received for this round through the Union.

The Lottery option is to be used owing to a short time frame for this round of selection. Potential applicants must be on the Metlakatla Band List and reside in Prince Rupert, Metlakatla or Port Edward. Students attending Charles Hays Secondary or Pacific Coast School are not eligible for this round of applications as they are still enrolled in school.

Resumes are to be submitted to Tara Leighton by email at employment@metlakatla.ca or through the Coastal Training Centre at 501 Dunsumir and Sixth Avenue West beside the RCMP detachment.

The deadline for submissions is tomorrow January 8th at 3PM.
