Final approval on the horizon for City's Financial Plan and Property Tax Bylaws



It's all but a formality by this point, with City Council having steered the recommend Financial Course from CFO Corinne Bomben through a number of previous Council sessions, with tonight the final vote to approve the Five year Financial Plan and a property tax bylaw that will see an increase put in place for Prince Rupert tax payers.

The full documentation for the Two Bylaws is part of tonight's Agenda package, included in the information relay is a Schedule of the 2022 Property Tax Rates for all of the classifications, providing a look at what is ahead for the July payment deadline.

Also part of tonight's information sharing process are the 2021 Audited Financial Statements, which include financial updates for CityWest and the City's financial instrument Legacy Inc.

If there's any discussion of those elements of the evening's documentation or any final thoughts from Council member so the 2022 property taxation plan, it will come towards the end of this evening's Council session which starts at 7PM
