Fire Prevention Week underway across British Columbia

The Prince Rupert Fire/Rescue Firehall on First Avenue West
Both Prince Rupert and Port Edward fire fighters will be mixing
fire response duties with community information work this week
as part of Fire Prevention Week

This is Fire Prevention Week across the province, with the focus once again on home safety, the need to have a home escape plan and to make sure that your personal safety items such as fire and smoke detectors are in good working order.

As the week moves forward, residents will be hearing from the members of the Prince Rupert Fire/Rescue Department and those of the Port Edward Volunteer Fire/Rescue Department as they both provide helpful safety hints and share notes with those living in their communities.

North Coast MLA Jennifer Rice who has an official statement on the week here,  has also been helping spread the word, providing a link to the Provincial website which has more information for those looking to learn more about Fire Safety in BC.

The City of Prince Rupert has also provided a short video on home safety as part of the launch to the week.

You can keep up with the work of Emergency Responders across the Northwest from our archive page here.
