Manitoba Manhunt! RCMP update the status of search, with announcement of discovery of bodies of two BC Suspects

The Manitoba RCMP issued an update on the search for two British Columbia suspects from a string of murders in the northern area of the province, announcing that the bodies of what they believe are the two British Columbians have been found in the Manitoba bush.

In an announcement from Assistant Commissioner Jane MacLatchy, the Manitoba Mounties noted that following a search of the Nelson River near Gillam, Manitoba investigators had discovered evidence to indicate that Bryer Schmegelsky and Kam MacLeod were likely still in the immediate area.

Manitoba RCMP investigators have discovered the bodies, who they
believe are the two suspects of interest to three high profile BC homicides

A search of the near high probability areas located adjacent to discovery of items near the Nelson River resulted in a search team coming across two male bodies in the dense brush area one kilometre from the waterline of the Nelson, with the RCMP expressing confidence that the two bodies are those of the two suspects.

Officials are currently conducting an autopsy in Winnipeg to confirm the identities and the cause of their deaths.

The full announcement can be reviewed here.
