Your eyes on the highway are resting this Sunday morning

Every Highway Camera along Highway 16 from Prince Rupert to
Alberta was out of commission this morning

Update: The highway camera troubles appear to have been resolved by the Noon Hour of Sunday.

For those travelling along the Highway 16 corridor and its feeder routes this Sunday morning checking ahead on the conditions by way of Drive BVC highway camera won't be on your driver's check list!

Mid morning on Sunday, Drive BC Northwest issued an advisory for motorists noting that there were numerous issues with the network of Highway webcams, which at the moment have no current images available for Northern BC highway conditions.

The Transportation agency described the issue as that of technical difficulties and did not offer any indication as to when they hope to have the technical problems rectified.

The Port Edward Turnoff Highway Cameras
last had a current image at just before 8 AM today

The outage of the Highway cameras covers all of the Highway 16 corridor from Prince Rupert through to the Alberta border.

Motorists can still consult the Drive BC website and twitter feeds for updates should any be required along the way today.
