All Native Basketball Tournament honours the past, with Hall of Fame Inductions Friday Night

Spectators and participants at the 59th Annual All Native Basketball Tournament took some time away from the high energy basketball of the week to honour the builders of the past on Friday night,

As the ANBT Hall of Fame Committee presented five more names for induction to the ANBT Hall of Fame.

While previously having announced that the Hall of Fame Ceremony would be shifted to Wednesday's, the ANBT Committee would seem to have heard the wishes of those attending the annual tournament, holding to the traditional Friday night celebration as in years past.

A large crowd of fans, team mates past and present and friends of the inductees were in attendance at the Russell Gamble Gymnasium on Friday evening, providing the welcome to the newest members, with cheers greeting each of the inductees as they were introduced.

As part of the ceremony of Friday, the five inductees were presented with jackets and awards to herald their placement in the Hall of Fame, each of those inducted on the evening provided for a few comments to the crowd, reflecting on the importance of the tournament to them through the years, as well as the impact that the event has on their respective communities.

Among those enshrined into the Class of 2018 were:

Tracy Cochrane (player)
Deanna Smith Gray (player)
Ellis Ross (player)
Wes Nyce (player)
Arnie Bellis (coach)
