The battle between the Northwest and the Carbioo is a rematch of last years CIHL Final which the River Kings won, a league championship victory which sent them to the Coy Cup.
With Williams Lake hosting that tournament this year, both teams will be participants in that provincial championship series set for the end of March, but heading into the tournament with bragging rights from the CIHL is making for the backdrop to the Best of three series.
The River Kings hold a 1-0 advantage in the Best of three league final, that on the strength of a 6-5 overtime victory last weekend in Williams Lake.
It was a high tempo affair and a game which went back and forth for much of the night once the Stampeders recovered from the Terrace team taking a three goal lead in the first period.

The Stamps launched their push back in the middle frame, setting the table for what was a frantic and exciting third period for those in attendance in the Cariboo Memorial complex.
A frequent nemesis of the Prince Rupert Rampage made for the winning marker for the River Kings last weekend, with Ben Reinbolt putting the River Kings in the win column with his OT marker just three minutes into the extra frame.

The scene shifts to the Terrace Sportsplex this weekend, with Game one set for Saturday night at 7PM, Game three is required takes place on Sunday afternoon at 1 PM.
