Avalanche control work means travel delays for Highway 16
Motorists making the journey between Terrace and Prince Rupert today will be facing delays of up to thirty minutes to one hour through the day, as work continues on avalanche control along a stretch of Highway 16.
The Ministry of Transportation issued the Travel Advisory earlier today, noting that the avalanche control work would take place between 9:30 AM and 4 PM.
You can get updates on the travel conditions around the Northwest from the Drive BC website or twitter feed.
More notes related to past events on the Highway 16 corridor can be found on our archive page.
