Last weekend, the two Junior teams from Charles Hays delivered the latest in Zones banners for the growing collection at the Prince Rupert Boulevard school, with both the Junior Boys Rainmakers, and Junior Girls Rainmakers now destined for Langley.

The Junior boys make for the first of the travels for CHSS, as they head for Provincials taking place from February 24th to 27th at the Langley Events Centre

The Junior Girls make their expeditions south to the same venue later this month with the Provincial championship series set for February 28 to March 3

Both teams are currently raising funds to help reduce the cost of their trips, you can watch for them around town or contact Charles Hays Secondary to find out how you can help out.

The Senior Boys will be looking to add to the year of success on the court for Charles Hays next weekend, when they host the Northwest Zones at the CHSS Gym.

The winner of that competition will head for the Big Show and the AA Provincial Championships set for March 7 to 10 at the Langley Events Centre.

The Senior Boys continue to remain high on the radar of the BC High School Rankings, once again holding firm to their third place spot in the Top Ten for AA Basketball teams.

As the high school season begins to wind down and the road to Langley beckons, the volume of items on the secondary school sports scene is increasing at the Howard Tsumura's Varsity Letters blog, those looking for scouting reports for the provincials will find a wealth of material to review.
