Highway 16 CLOSED 30 km West of Terrace due to vehicle incident

For further updates see bottom of this page

Travellers travelling along Highway 16 between Terrace and Prince Rupert will want to defer their travels until later in the morning on Thursday, with the Highway Closed as of 9PM this evening due to a motor vehicle incident.

Details on the nature of the incident have not been released, but Drive BC did issue the road closure notice advising that the estimated time of opening is not expected to come until 3 AM.

The next update on the situation is set to be delivered at Midnight.

You can get latest road information from the Drive BC website or twitter feed.

The Road closure is just the latest in what has been a string of closures over the last two weeks, though this is the first related to a vehicle incident, the others were the result of Avalanche concerns along the route.
