No Change for Rainmaker Ranking in Senior Boys AA Basketball

With the Northwest Regional Zones competitions fast approaching, the Charles Hays Senior Boys Rainmakers remain a top three ranked squad province wide, with the latest rankings for BC High School Basketball finding  Mel and Ryan Bishop's team holding tough at their third place spot for AA Basketball.

The latest rankings for the Boys makes for another week in the third place spot, a streak that began in December and has carried the team through much of the High School basketball season.

The Rainmakers continue to have a firm hold on a top three placement
in the BC High School AA rankings

The Makers head into action this weekend, with a couple of more strong wins under their belt, with the Charles Hays squad having taken twin victories of 79-57 and 70-47 from the Caledonia Keromodes last weekend in Terrace.

The Senior Boys took to the rails on Wednesday, destined for Prince George and a pair of games at Duchess Park Secondary in the snow slammed Central Interior city.

The Rainmakers have games set for today and tomorrow, before they embark on a Saturday return trip with VIA Rail.

The trip to Prince George will make for a good test for the Rainmakers as they prepare to host the Senior Boys AA Zones on February 23 and 24.

The Junior Boys Basketball team is off to Zones in Terrace with games on the schedule for Friday and Saturday, unless of course Mother Nature intervenes further with another blast of winter weather for the North Coast inland areas.

The Junior Girls will be in action at the Charles Hays Gymnasium this weekend as well, with the Rainmakers hosting the Junior Girls Zones for the region on Saturday.

As the Regional Zones begin to arrive, all of the Charles Hays teams have their eyes focused on berths at the Provincial Championships in Langley in the weeks ahead.

A good resource to follow to see which teams are punching their tickets to provincial championships is through the Varsity Letters blog hosted by Howard Tsumura, his work provides for some of the best coverage of the high school and university sport scene in the province.
