Telegraph Creek watches the skies and the wind as Barrington River fire burns

A fire near Barrington River is one of a number currently being
watched over by the BC Wildfire Service

A lightning caused fire near  Telegraph Creek on August 5th is being watched closely by BC Wildfire Services, though with little growth and a fifty kilometre distance they don't believe it is of a concern for residents of the community at this time.

The advisory on what is known as the Barrington River Fire came yesterday from the Wildfire Service

It is one of a number of fires currently burning in the Cassiar Fire Zone, which has seen some extremely hot conditions over the last week or so. The fire Danger Rating for the region was listed as moderate-to-high as of yesterday.

One year ago, Telegraph Creek residents were evacuated from their homes during a summer season of destructive wildfires, with a large number of homes and property in the area lost by the time the fire had been subdued by provincial efforts.
