Adverse Weather holds Northern Adventure in dock at Skidegate

As the winds pick up on the North Coast and Haida Gwaii, the crossing of Hecate Strait during some current adverse weather conditions means that the Northern Adventure is currently holding in dock at Skidegate.

In an advisory Updated just before 11 AM BC Ferries noted that they will re-assess the weather conditions through the noon hour with another update planned for after 12:30PM

Environment Canada currently has a GALE WARNING in place for Hecate Strait through the afternoon and into Wednesday. 

The advisory calling for Wind south 35 knots diminishing to south 15 to 25 this afternoon then becoming south 15 late this evening. Wind diminishing to light late overnight then becoming northwest 15 Wednesday evening. Seas are expected to subside to 2 metres this afternoon and further past midnight.

Update: BC Ferries advises of a three hour delay to the 10 AM sailing with a Skidegate departure now set for 1PM
