City of Prince Rupert moves forward to next phase of Shawatlan Lake water infrastructure planning

With the Woodworth Dam project complete and just the filling of the reservoir and turning on of the tap to go for that infrastructure project, the City is moving forward to the next item for its extensive water infrastructure program.

Next up of consideration is a Request for Proposals issued on Tuesday by the City which has put out the call for proposals for elements to connect associated reservoir infrastructure to the community,

The program listed with BC Bid this week notes of the Shawatlan Lake Connection - Water Main and Bridge Replacement project.

The Background to the RFP outlines how the City has obtained funding from the Investing in Canada Infrastructure program  and notes of some of the details towards the work ahead.

The project includes two key items of note, a Bridge replacement and Water Main Replacement.

The proposed work is still in the very early stages of preparation, with the Closing Date for the RFP set for July 26th, the tendering of drawings isn't expected until January 12 of 2023.

No timeline for when the actual work on the site would take place was noted in the BC Bid documents.
