Prime Time for a Rainmaker: Liam McChesney and his Team Canada team mates take to the court today for launch of GLOBL Jam Tourney

A chance for North Coast residents to get a glimpse of the latest mark in the basketball career for Liam McChesney comes up later today, as Day One of the Six Day GLBL JAM takes to the court in Toronto.

As we noted in June, The former Charles Hays Rainmaker has been in Toronto for the last week as part of the invitation camp for the Under 23 Canadian squad and on Monday, Canada Basketball Announced the Men's and Women's line up for tournament week. 

And among the twelve named to the Under 23 Men's roster was the young Rupertite who currently is part of the NCAA Illinois State program.

The Canadian side takes on Brazil in their tournament ice breaker later tonight, with tip off set for 6PM BC Time broadcast on Sportsnet.

They head into the tournament with Nathaniel Mitchell making his Canadian national team head coaching debut, alongside assistant coaches Dave DeAveiro, Jamie McNeilly and Scott Morrison, as well as apprentice coach, Kalisha Keane. 

The folks at Illinois State sent their power forward a best wishes message on Social media this morning as he prepared for the tourney tip off later today.

All of the tournament action through to the Sunday finale is being broadcast by Sportsnet.

The GLOBL JAM is the marquee event of a number activities taking place in Toronto, with the Sportsnet affiliation designed to help spread word of the young talent coming up the ranks with Basketball Canada.
