The anticipation of some nasty weather for the North Coast has given BC Ferries cause to delay their planned departure from Skidegate to Prince Rupert.

The Northern Adventure had been scheduled for a 10 AM crossing this morning, however in a Service Notice on the BC Ferries website that sailing has now been rescheduled for 6 AM on Wednesday, which will make for a noon hour arrival in Prince Rupert.

That sailing however, is dependent on the status of the weather prior to departure tomorrow.

You can access updated information from BC Ferries here.

The Marine Weather Forecast for Hecate Strait is calling for Gale Force winds today, tonight and Wednesday, with gusts of up to 45 knots into the afternoon, along with the winds seas will build up to 5 metres in the afternoon before they subside to 3 metres overnight.
