The unofficial start to the 2017-18 Ski Season gets underway tonight for Prince Rupert's skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts, as the 2017 edition of the Powder Pig Jig takes place at Fisherman's Hall starting at 7:30 PM.
To get you into the spirit of the arrival of fresh powder on the inland slopes, tonight will feature a number of ski and snowboard movies presented by Loaded Sports.
Following the winter themed film festival, Prince Rupert's own Triple Bypass will take to the stage at 10 PM.
Among some of the features on the night will be a cash bar, as well as a chance to keep the growlies at bay with the options of the menu from the Food Truck on hand for the night.
As well, those in attendance will have the the chance to wins some outstanding prizes.
Included in the prize packages are:
1 Heli Skiu Day
1 Helicopter charter
50 percent off on an avalanche course
Day Lift Ski passes
Tickets are 20 dollars on a cash only basis for the 19 and over event, they are available at Cowpuccino's, The Wheelhouse, Loaded Sports.
For Terrace-Kitimat residents making the trip west, you can grab yours at Sherwood Brewers or All Seasons Sports.

For those looking to get ahead of the crowd when it comes to grabbing a season pass for Shames Mountain this season, Shames staff will be in town today to set you up with your documentation for the ski year ahead.
They will be at Cowpuccino's from 2 to 5 PM this afternoon, and again at the Powder Pig Jig from 7-10 tonight at Fisherman's Hall.
