The first of what may be the only opportunities to measure each of the candidates on the North Coast head to head to head as part of the October 24th election campaign comes up tonight!
That, as the Prince Rupert and District Chamber of Commerce hosts a Prince Rupert area focused discsussion.
The ninety minute forum to be hosted by CBC Daybreak North's Matt Allen starts at 7PM tonight and will provide incumbent NDP MLA Jennifer Rice, BC Liberal candidate Roy Jones Junior and Libertarian candidate Jody Craven the opportunity to make their best case to be our representative in Victoria once the vote count is finished on election day.
You still have time to submit questions for the night, or to vote on those already submitted from this link, the online project already having received some heavy attention since we first made note of the Chamber's plans last week.
As of this afternoon there have been 22 questions offered up for consideration, ranging in topics of housing, port caps, Health issues, local economic development, school infrastructure and even a call for Prince Rupert to leave the Regional District level of local governance.
So far the housing issues question is dominating the feedback.
One question related to the feral cat issues in the city has not only captured some interest, but also some push back; with a call to ignore it currently generating more votes than the original call for consideration.
Tonight's Prince Rupert/Port Edward themed forum will be broadcast on CityWest Channel 10/310HD, as well as to be streamed live through the Chamber of Commerce Facebook page.
Tomorrow night, the candidates will do it all again, as CFNR's Mary Denton takes them through the second 90 minute forum, the Thursday event to focus on issues of concern for Haida Gwaii, the Central Coast and other rural areas.
The Thursday event will be streamed live only, through the Chamber Facebook page.

So far the feedback for that forum has delivered seven questions, with health care and climate change among the popular topics.
Mr. Allen however may wish to consult the October 8th questions where two specific to Prince Rupert appear, seemingly mis directed to the wrong forum perhaps.
