Deadline approaching for interest in Tourism Prince Rupert's wayfinding signage project

Artists on the North Coast have until this Friday to let Tourism Prince Rupert know that they want to participate in an upcoming project to develop new wafinding signage for the downtown and main tourism areas of the city.

We first outlined the call for artists back in October, the new deadline of December 10th is an extension from the original November 26th notes.

And with just days to go until the deadline extension closes, Tourism Prince Rupert is giving local artists a nudge to give the project some thought and to bring their visual interpretations to public view.

As Tourism Prince Rupert explains it:

Selected artists will develop original artwork to be displayed on all new signage created for this project. This new wayfinding signage will help visitors find key attractions throughout Prince Rupert, noting distances and other important information.

In the course of this project, we also aim to introduce more public art into Prince Rupert’s key areas, including the work of local Indigenous artists.

For a finished product Tourism Prince Rupert is looking for works that are inspired by the beautiful nature landscape and wilderness that surrounds the area.

Submissions to Tourism Prince Rupert must be delivered by Midnight on Friday December 10th
