Blog Watching: Week ending May 6, 2018

The account of a police operation in the city this week dominated our blog results over the last seven days, with a large audience interested in our account of the event but metres away from the Prince Rupert Middle School.

The police action involved a combined effort involving a number of sections of the Prince Rupert RCMP, along with the Police Dog Service in Terrace served to warrants out on two residences on Lotbiniere Street in the early hours of Tuesday morning, with local Mounties taking ten into custody and 40,000 dollars worth of drugs off the streets.

The plans of the residents of Overlook Street to install a community garden/green space project in their neighbourhood also attracted a wide readership this week.

Other items that caught the interest of our blog followers included a stop in Prince Rupert for a Vancouver based Lion Dance and Drummer group, with the group making a number of appearances in the city over two days last week.

Regional District found success with their nomination for a position of the BC Ferry Authority Board while our notes on the upcoming Nisga'a Special Assembly in Gingolx also found an interested audience.

The top story however, puts the focus on the local RCMP detachment's continued efforts in combating the illegal drug business in the community.
