The future for some of the region's industrial options was the focus for some of the news of the week, with Ridley Terminals set to change hands, with control over the terminal operations to shift to a pair of American equity firms after the Federal Government reached an agreement to sell off the Crown corporation.
The future of a proposed major investment in the region also came to the top of the news cycle this week, as Eagle Spirit Energy kept their plans for pipeline development, along with a terminal for Grassy Point alive, seeking some clarification on the process ahead from the National Energy Board.
Other themes that found significant interest this week included our look at the plans from the Provincial Government towards the introduction of ride sharing in BC, with Prince Rupert making for the first stop on a consultation tour of taxi providers by the Passenger Transportation Board.
Kaien Trails having brought the Rushbrook Trail project to a highly acclaimed conclusion is now setting its plans towards their next project, with an introduction for those interested set for July 20th at Seal Cove.
It may be in pockets, but the city's downtown core is starting to see some rebirth, with a number of renovation projects taking hold as new businesses take up once empty space along the City's Third Avenue Shopping core.
However, the top item of the last seven days put some focus on the always tempestuous state of discussion on oil, with a proposed oil terminal for the North Coast still in the planning phase, despite some important changes to Federal legislation.

Kaien Trails ready to explore next leg of trail network next weekend -- With the success of the Rushbrook Trail project still a topic for much discussion around Prince Rupert, the Kaien Trails Society is making plans for their next expansion and inviting interested North Coast residents along for a tour of the proposed site. Summer of renovations: Third Avenue West storefront location latest to see work underway -- There has been a flurry of work on commercial locations in the city's downtown area of late, the most recent the gutting of the old Manson's location in anticipation of the arrival of Clarity Cannabis (posted July 9, 2019)
