North Coast Marine Environmental Incident Responders looks to take on Spill Response deckhand

The company which is tasked with Marine Environmental response in the region is currently on the quest for a deckhand for operations on the North Coast, that with a job posting now available on the West Coast Marine Response Corporation website.

The fleet which is based at the floats near the Atlin Terminal responds to calls related to environmental issues around the North Coast, part of the province wide approach to redressing any situations that are in need of immediate action.

Under their mandate, WCMRC must ensure there is a state of preparedness in place when a marine spill occurs and to mitigate the impacts on B.C.’s coast. 

Their duties include the protection of wildlife, economic and environmental sensitivities, and the safety of both responders and the public.
