Downtown Prince Rupert without power Monday morning

BC Hydro is investigating the cause of a power outage that has hit the downtown core of the city, the lights flickered and went out shortly before 9 AM today, affecting an area from McBride to past the Five Corners and including all of the downtown core.




BC Hydro's website notes that a crew has been assigned to investigate the issue, with no timeline provided as to when the power may be returned.

Update: BC Hydro now notes that the incident is related to a downed wire, the area affected has been isolated by hydro crews, with the power expected to be returned to full service by 11 AM
