The final preparations are in motion at the Jim Ciccone Civic Centre as West Coast Amusements makes ready for their Friday opening |
The big rigs began to arrive in town on Tuesday morning and since that time the parking lot at the Jim Ciccone Civic Centre has begun to take on its familiar appearance of early May, as the West Coast Amusements Carnival arrives in town and set up shop at the McBride Street facility.

The thrills and spills of the Midway along with the carnival food fare open for business on Friday afternoon at 3PM, with WCA in town through until Sunday at 6 PM
Hours of Operation are scheduled as follows:
Friday 3 to 10 PM
Saturday Noon to 10 PM
Sunday Noon to 6 PM
WCA notes on their website however that hours are dependant on weather and customer attendance, with earlier closings possible if conditions warrant it.
Pricing for the Prince Rupert stop looks like this:
Single Gold Ticket $1.25
Red Book (20 tickets) 23.00
Blue Book (40 tickets) 45.00
Daily Wristbands $40
Sunday Special Wristband $35

The West Coast Amusements Website also provides a guided tour of sorts of what Carnival goers may find as they wander the midway this weekend, with a look at some of the favourites that bring fans back year after year, as well as some of the new arrivals to challenge those who are not faint of heart!
It's all quiet today, but come Friday night the Jim Ciccone Civic Centre is going to look a little bit different, as residents of the North Coast take in the annual visit of the Carnival to Prince Rupert.
