Rupert's Runners Hit the Cannery Road this Saturday


The last of the major runs for the North Coast is coming up on Saturday as the Rupert Runners host the 14th edition of the Cannery Road Race, taking the running community out to Port Edward for the scenic trot along the Cannery Road between the town site and North Pacific Cannery Historical Site.

The event features a 5 kilometre run that takes you to just shy of the Aero Trading Fish plant.

While the most energetic of runners will take on the challenge of the 10K run, which starts at the Cannery site and then turns back just before the turn off to Prince Rupert  for the return leg back to North Pacific.

In addition to the longer run options for the adults, the always popular 1 kilometre Kids' Fun Run is set for this year as well.




Participants should note that there will be No Parking at North Pacific, with shuttle buses in place to take runners to the start finish line from Parking in the Port Edward townsite.

Organizers also remind you that if you can help out as a volunteer, tonight offers the chance to learn more about what is needed and how you can help out.

The information session is set for this evening at the Fraser Street offices of race sponsor the Northern View, the meeting gets underway at 7PM
