McBride street take down ...

Travellers along McBride Street this weekend probably had some flashbacks to the summer's season of road work, a period of a few months which closed the city's heavily travelled thoroughfare for much of the summer months.

Once again on Saturday and Sunday, traffic had been reduced to two lanes for a stretch along the 700 and 800 blocks, this time as Empire Tree Removal removed a large tree from a property on the western side of the busy street.

The project required two days of work, with the once towering feature of the Rupert daily transit now gone, much of it carted away in a container brought in for the job.

They were documenting some of their work over the weekend, so the job may soon make for a feature on their Facebook page.
