City Council Preview: Monday, September 9, 2019

With travel plans in the offing for the Mayor, Council members and staff, the only regularly scheduled City Council session in September takes place tonight starting at 7PM at City Hall chambers.

The Prince Rupert delegation will be heading to Vancouver for the UBCM convention in two weeks time, but before they pack their suitcases for departure, they face an Agenda of mostly familiar items for review tonight.

The evening starts off with a presentation on the theme of Child Care funding in the province and then shifts focus towards permit requests for two development items, as well as a review of the July Variance Report.

Some work addressed in a Special Council session of last week will be back for another review, as the Councillors look to move forward the Permissive Property Tax Exemption Bylaw, as well as some amendments to the 2019 Five Year Financial Plan.

Richard Pucci, the City's Director of Operations will also provide a report on the plan moving forward on the removal of one of the Moresby Fuel Tanks, as well as to seek approval for the awarding of the contract for that work.

The evening wraps up with Council Members offered the opportunity to raise in public forum,  any items of interest or concern that they may have.

You can review the Full Agenda Packages for the Regular Council Session from the City's Website here.
