Pembina relocates offices from downtown core to Watson Island facility

Pembina energy has moved out of their Capital Mall
offices, consolidating all their Prince Rupert operations
at the LPG Shipping terminal facility on Watson Island

Now that the Pembina LPG Shipment terminal is in operation and has been running for over a year, the Alberta based energy company is consolidating its offices in Prince Rupert.

Having recently moved their office from the Capital Mall building in downtown Prince Rupert to their terminal facility on Watson Island.

Pembina announced the move in April noting that they are now located at 100 Watson Island as part of their shipping terminal facility at the Industrial site.

The facility received its first vessel call in April of 2021

Residents of the region who wish to contact them can still reach them by email at community@pembina.ca or by phone at 1-888-920-1979

Pembina will release its first quarter results for 2022 later this week with a conference call and webcast scheduled for Friday May 6th.

When Pembina hosts that conference call, North Coast residents will be looking for any updates from company officials about any plans for Terminal expansion for the Prince Rupert facility, the status of that expansion was still undecided as of February

That expansion was deferred last summer, with Pembina stating they would consider their options in the first quarter of this year, which came to an end in March.

The Prince Rupert Terminal Expansion remains deferred. Engineering of the expansion is well advanced and in conjunction with market dynamics that include customer demand, shipping costs, and North American and international pricing, Pembina expects to make a decision in the first quarter of 2022 whether to proceed with the expansion. -- From Pembina Pipelines February update

In addition to any plans for Prince Rupert, Pembina also has an ongoing engagement with the Haisla as part of the proposed Cedar LNG Terminal development near Kitimat.

Some of our past notes on that proposed development can be reviewed here.

  1. Rumor has it that the real reason behind the office move is that the Port Ed store has better lunch options than all of Prince Rupert.
