Prince Rupert's Week of Dance comes to an end tonight

Prince Rupert's Lester Centre has been in the spotlight of Dance
this week as host venue for the BC Annual Dance Competition.
The Gala Finale takes place tonight at 7

After a week full of high energy performances and night after night of showcase dance, Prince Rupert's annual hosting  of the BC Annual Dance Competition comes to an end this evening with the Gala Performance to bring down the curtain on the 2022 event.

The Lester Centre for the Arts has been Dance Central for the province since last weekend, with both local and dancers from far afield taking to the stage to showcase their art in the spectacular forum offered by the Prince Rupert facility.

Over 600 entries were included as part of the Dance program over the last week which featured a full day and night of performances., 

Competitors at the Prince Rupert event have been participating in quest of more than 60,000 dollars in awards for the young dancers.

Something which makes the Prince Rupert event a highly popular one for those in dance to attend.

The doors open to the Lester Centre at 6 for the preshow reception, with the final presentations for 2022 to start at 7PM.

This years event marks the 33rd edition of the event and the first live performance for the Competition in two years. 

The event was held virtually in 2021 owing to COVID. the 2020 Competition had been cancelled at the start of the coronavirus in Canada.
