Charges pending from Friday morning traffic incident at Miller Bay Hill

Prince Rupert RCMP have released some details in relation to a single vehicle crash Friday morning in the Miller Bay Hill area of Highway 16.

The incident which brought a response from the Prince Rupert detachment, as well as Prince Rupert Fire/Rescue and BC Ambulance involved a vehicle which had left the roadway, rolled over and ended up blocking one lane of traffic on the highway.

In an information release from Friday afternoon, the RCMP outlined that when their members arrived on the scene the driver, and lone occupant was out of the vehicle and appeared to be uninjured.

The Mounties observe in their statement that further investigation revealed evidence to suggest that alcohol may have been a contributing factor in the crash. The male involved in the incident could face impaired driving related charges as a result of the incident.

The adult male was arrested and then later released pending a future court date.

Traffic in and out of Prince Rupert was delayed as the emergency crews worked the scene and then removed the vehicle from the area.
