Port Edward break and enter call brings arrests and charges pending

The Prince Rupert RCMP have outlined the details of a response to a Break and Enter in Port Edward on Thursday, where they took two men into custody.

Mounties received the call for assistance at 6:41 PM on Thursday related to a break and enter in progress in the Evergreen Drive area of Port Edward, upon arrival the responding officers received information about a vehicle which had left the area and may have been involved in the offence.

The vehicle was intercepted by members of the Prince Rupert detachment at the Galloway Rapids Bridge area and the two occupants were taken into custody at that time.

During the course of their investigation, the RCMP seized drugs suspected to be methamphetamine, a large amount of cash and two firearms.

Two adult men, a 39 year old and a 30 year old, both of whom are Prince Rupert residents were released from custody pending a future court appearance.

The RCMP's Corporal Alex Langley of the Prince Rupert General Investigation Service credited a Prince Rupert resident to their assistance towards the investigation.

A Prince Rupert resident was instrumental in this file by alerting the police, resulting in the successful apprehension of both suspects.
