Prince Rupert RCMP highlight a few recent files with Friday's information release

A late Friday roll out of information statements from the Prince Rupert RCMP provided some background to a pair of recent service calls which saw the local detachment deal with a single vehicle incident on Highway16, as well as to make arrests in a Break and Enter in the Port Edward area.

For those that may have been away, or were busy wrapping fish up in newspapers over the weekend and missed our updates from Friday and Saturday, the local detachment caught us up on some recent files.

The first saw the RCMP expand on details for the Friday morning car incident, which saw a van leave the road on Miller Bay Hill, north of the Galloway Rapids Bridge area. With charges now pending for the male driver of the vehicle.

The Galloway Rapids Bridge area also played a key role in a pair of arrests that took place on Thursday evening, after Prince Rupert RCMP responded to a Break and Enter in progress, subsequently intercepting a car with two occupants near the bridge area and taking them into custody, they too will be facing a range of charges.

The media release flow had started earlier in the week, as we noted last Wednesday the Prince Rupert RCMP outlined that status of the ongoing investigation of the disappearance of Lawrence Maitland of Lax Kw'alaams. Reassuring the community that the investigation remains an active one and that they are seeking information from the public if they have anything to add to their investigation.
